Planning & Designing My Own Wedding
Cesar Party of 2!
One of the best and craziest decisions an event planner can do is actually execute their own wedding! It is a rewarding job and takes up so much time that it is easier to plan someone else’s wedding over your own. In my case, I planned my own!
Before making any wedding details, I put a budget together. I wanted to ensure that I stayed within budget and would still have everything that I want. I compared prices and found that a destination wedding would be the best for me. Once I found my destination it became a journey to pick a venue, however, PUERTO RICO was a beautiful and perfect choice! My venue allowed me to ship and store items there until my wedding so I began to prepare early. I created a vision board on Pinterest that may have changed a good three times (girl problems). Once my board was complete I began to look for vendors that can assist with my vision.
I used all sorts of online stores or local discount stores to find my decor items. With everything I bought (on sale & with coupons), the total spent was $403 not including the flowers (we’ll get to that). With this $403 it included a guest globe, paper, customized sand box, vases, pencils, markers, table runners, chargers, program, table names (printed table numbers), guest box for cards & mad libs, personalized Mr. & Mrs. Sign, cake topper, napkin rings and gold bling for my cake. The flowers were more expensive but I found a way to keep them under $1100.
And finally, I wanted my wedding to be EPIC! I wanted it to be fun, classy, memorable and affordable. So, every detail from beginning to end helped me establish that.
It’s so important to create a vision for the wedding, create a timeline, and have an accountability partner whether that be your planner, Someone like me! LOL. Or a friend or family member that can be totally reliable! I am going to share more useful tips on how to plan EVENTS on a budget. If you have questions on how I did this craziness with almost no stressful moments continue to follow my blog for more details on my wedding!
